Against the Light at Galmpton Creek.
Oil on Board
51 cm x 31 cm
Framed
(Painted Area: 30 cm x 48 cm)
In 'Against the Light at Galmpton Creek,' I captured the serene beauty of Dartside Quay as it approached last light. Painted 'contre jour,' the scene comes alive with bold brushstrokes and vibrant colors. The flowing water at my feet adds dynamism and depth to the composition. Anchored by the boats, this piece celebrates the interplay of light, shadow, and water in a cherished location.

Painted in the Autumn of 2019, contre jour (against the light) over the course of several visits to capture the same effect of light shining in my eyes and creating a back lit, silhouetted effect and shimmering motion on the water.
