Oil on Panel
Framed

(Painted Area: 21 cm x 26 cm)
This painting aims at showcasing the rich painterly qualities that make outdoor painting so captivating.
As an artist, I revel in the opportunity to work en plein air, surrounded by the vivid landscapes that nature offers. 'Brixham Woods' reflects the vibrant energy and lively brushwork that result from such creative exploration. The muted color palette I've chosen serves as a delicate backdrop, allowing the subject to shine.
The woods themselves serve as a springboard for developing compelling compositions and color arrangements. Each stroke on the panel captures the essence of the scene, inviting you to immerse yourself.
This is an opportunity to bring the outdoors into your living space, reminding you of the wonder and tranquility of the natural world.

As with most of my work this is Painted en plein air. It captures a woodland area that surrounds Brixham’s Fishcombe Cove. Many of the trees were removed shortly after this was painted as they had succumbed to Ramorum, a disease that affects many varieties of trees. New trees were planted to replace the heart of the woodland area.
